Boy, I could write a book about this! CNN Money did a article called "Home Modification from Hell" that pretty well sums it up! It is a nightmare! Paperwork, paperwork, and by time you get it all in time to re do! If you are unemployed you are really up the creek in order for a modification you have to be working or at least unemployment! But, you know I just get up each day dust off the dirt and start over, what choice do I have? My house was to be sold on court house steps May 31st on the 22 we had a tornado in Joplin, mo well now it is postphoned! Not over with just postphoned! But, I would say don't wait to contact lender, if you enact soon they have more options to offer. If they offer you the HAMP your house payment must meet 31% of your income, if not you SOL! That is my case! Good luck, your gonna need it along with a LOT of patience!
